Japanese Lunch Buffet @ Irodori

Around mid December, met XL and her married couple friends for a Japanese Lunch at Irodori.
It was a deal from Coupon Site which there are several good reviews on the food itself.
Chancing it over a good deal and a great opportunity to meet up with Esther and her little beautiful 6-month old baby girl was such a delight.

Lets get started on what we had on that day
Do note its a Ala-Carte Lunch buffet

The table setting

Appetiser on each table -> a very nice cold tofu with
some crispy flour flakes and seasoning.
Looks simple but yet taste flavourful

Grilled Chicken wings-> Not bad, cant get wrong for such a common food item

One of the must ordered: Rice in Green Tea
Sounds damn boring but trust us, they did add some Japanese salty rice crisp and seaweed
Awesome taste! Simple and yet very surprising

We were awed by this Mentai grilled prawns.. Note: Its only a One-Time order for this controlled item=P

Gosh for those sashimi lovers out there, the sashimi were really very sweet and fresh
We had three big servings=D

Fried pork with onions =D
Nice too

The Mix Sashimi=> Yummy Yums =D

Curry Udon ( small serving)
Normal.. can skip

Cold Soba , not bad =D and we love it too =D

Fried mee was not too bad too =D

Overall, the serving speed can be alittle slow so make sure you place your orders all at once so that the food can come slowly to you.
So note: not to over order else it will be a waste of food =D

Deal Coupon was around $34/pax

Last day in Milan: S Leonardo & Duomo

Finally, this is the last post of our Europe trip. From La Spezia back to Milan.
Grabbed a random meal from a fast food Kebab store, known as the Ali Baba for our lunch on out train ride back to Milan

Cross section of the kebab, not bad for a choice oer pasta /pizza in Italy =P:

Saw my super tired face.. this is how lethargic we looked after
the end of our 14-days trip.
Hence, bought an eye cream from Sephora there for my tired peepers
As it was a work day, our host will not reach home till 7pm.
Hence, we chilled/shopped at Milan Centrale Station to while time away
before heading back to S.Leonardo.

We always have coffee for any break =P
Need the caffeine fix badly

Bottega Vette - Its like our Body Shop selling all kinds of
hair care, body care & cosmetics.
Peng bought a few shampoo & Body wash as the smell is very tempting.
As for me, I only bought a very small lighted facial scrub for fear I cant lug any more=P
Finally reached our host's place and after offloading our luggages.
Off we went for our dinner.
As we had explored the place back on our very 1st day in S. Leonardo.
We knew where in the neighbourhood to get our dinner
Love the weather then, it was a bit windy & chilly but not as bad as our 1st day

Rem the can of beer our Italian host gave me?
Yaa, love the taste of this beer hence I asked for that to go with my dinner.
Good excuse to keep myself warm =P
Oh, we went to a Italian-Chinese fusion restaurant for our dinner
Chinese Pop Piah.. to ease our craving for our Asian food =P

Peng's Spaghetti & the Serving size is huge for any of us

My meat minced Penne.. is also humongous, cant finish it at all=P

Crispy fried duck with shredded cucumber, bean sprouts & carrots.
Super nice, we did not know fried crisp duck can be that nice=D
This is the end of our last dinner in Milan.

On our last morning in Milan, our itinerary was to get to Duomo to buy some branded stuff for ourselves & friends.
First stop to Duomo Di Milano whereby if you get out of Duomo station, instantly you will see this very beautiful cathedral. One cant possibly miss this outstanding architectural if you are there!

I'm still reminiscing this beautiful cathedral

Gosh.. isn't this façade gorgeous?

The very Atas-Looking Shopping mall in Duomo

Love the interior design of this mall  where it houses one of the many
top designer shops such as LV,  Prada & etc. =D

Lunch at Ali Bab shop again as the cafes in Duomo are packed full of people
and the prices of the food are on the high side.

This is what I had:  Chicken with fries as I was sick of bread them while  Peng had her kebab =P

Ending our Europe trip post with our last cups of Cappuccino at a breakfast kiosk at San Leonardo before heading back to collect our luggages and back to Singapore homeland =D
Ciao~~

Love this cup design too =D

Vietnamese Food - Long Phung @ Joo Chiat

Sometime last month on a weekend dinner, fat bf suggested to go for Vietnamese food @ Joo Chiat which his Vietnamese colleagues strongly recommended. So together with sis & her bf, the 4 of us headed down Long Phung for our Vietnamese dinner. When we reached the restaurant at around 7pm, the queue was quite long already but since we were there, we were determined to try =P Frankly speaking, we rarely tried Vietnamese cuisine as to my perception its all about the noodles that its known as "pho"(Vietnamese glass noodles), lots of herbs/spices, baguette, rice roll & etc)
Shall let the food pics do all the justification =D

Long Phung @ Joo Chiat

Interior of the restaurant

Look at the crowd..The never ending crowd that keeps coming in!

This is the Vietnames rice roll which is the original version. There is also the fried version.
But we chose the original to better taste the rolls.
Overall, if you like basil you will like this dish.
Luckily the nice thick savoury sauce proves to be a very excellent dip which can reduce the basil smell when we eat =D

A close look at the excellent dip

Green papaya salad- Not bad but I still prefer the Thai Style papaya salad =P

The super nice grilled Pork rice that has a very high rating over the review.
A Must order dish: shall rate 4.8 out of 5 stars

A closer look at the grilled pork.. isn't this tempting ?
Yumms =D

We simply love this sour fish soup.
Name of the dish sounds scary but fat bf is always in a adventurous
mood to try some quirky looking/sounding dish
We all love the sweet sour soup which is super appetising.
I can keep drinking the soup non stop=P
The fish is also incredibly fresh.

Chicken wings that never fail us. nice & crispy =D

This is one of the highest rave about Chicken Pho.
All 4 of us love this dish, shall rate 4.5/ 5 stars

One of the pho that I did not manage to capture was :
Bamboo shoot with Duck Pho
A strangely acquired taste that neither of us like.
If you like the bamboo shoot from Thai/Viet, you will like this dish

Ending this food post with the traditional Vietnamese Style Coffee
Such a coffee setting is always intriguing for us =D
Add caption
The whole meal costs around S$56 and considered very wallet friendly for the 4 of us =D
