Well, it has been a tiring & fulfilling time period. Too many events happened which well is part & parcel of life. Supposed to also blog about my Taiwan trip which happened in Jul'14 but too lazy to pen down. Shall need to back track those memory lanes sometime later =P
Shall kick start the last dinner meal on 31-Dec-2014
Fat bf and I decided we are going to try The French Table at west coast plaza, that's because its French Food located in the west.
Oh well, besides commenting the prices are kinda wallet friendly compared to other French restaurant but it isn't that delectable to my taste buds. So I will not even call it being fantastic.
We ordered Mushroom soup to try and hmm.. okay passable but will prefer to have more chunks of mushroom to the soup. (3.5/5*)
Truffle fries,.. that's my recent faves thanks to Jess' introduction but hmm, need to keep the weight under control so binge once in a while , which I believe is ok =P
Its $5.80 on menu which is considerably cheap enough if you are having it else where where it can cost up to $11 or so
Verdict: Fries are hot and nice.. will wish the truffle oil to be a little bit more generous but hey, its only $5.80 so yeah.. not bad already.
Next we had the pork belly dish which is good enough
I ordered the duck confit but guess I should order the one @ 18.80 but ordered $22.80 instead with mutton, pork sausage & the duck leg
Seriously, the dish really looks very delish by its red- orangey colour
But with the 1st bite.. I just feel it tastes gamey.. and the blur me.. did not realise that I overlooked the menu stating mutton in the dish.. Okay, I'm not a fan of any mutton meat so the whole dish was left to the fat BF to finish.
In all, though duck confit should be the star of the restaurant but it just fails me. Pork sausage tastes too dry.
In all, I only like the mushroom soup & the truffle fries. Perhaps its just me who thinks such way.
Meal cost around $60, wallet friendly and pretty accessible. Will I go back again? Hmm, I guess not then.
