Switzerland Day 4: 22 May 2013

Continuing last post entry from Day 3 , breakfast on Day 4  in our guest house at Murren.is simple and filling  I really loved the croissants in Switzerland, with its very fluffy and crispy texture. Back then, I was still thinking that it was so so so much better than the one we rave so much back home=P
( Shall not mention which bakery then=p)
The delightful Peng had her happy dose of nice yoghurt & cheese with bread plus coffee

Had hot chocolate for my energy boost in the chilly weather=P  I even had 2 hard boiled eggs too with croissant and least cheese ( am not a very cheese person)=P

After breakfast, we headed out to Interlaken which is a beautiful town in Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland. Our purpose then was to check how much more do we have to fork out to go up Top of Europe ( Jungfrau) which is a huge peak in the Bernese Alps with perpetual snowing all year round.  Hee, Since we had to fork our around CHF 135 per pax after discount from our Swiss Passes, the idea of getting up the Alps was dropped immediately =P  Another opportunity arose when we saw that the cruise for Lake Brienz is departing. In a moment of impromptus,we  just showed our passes and hop onto the cruie. The whole hour cruise was relaxing and tranquil that simply take our minds off everything, Splendid weather, environment and pace..there is no rushing, no heavy crowd, no irritating yakking from surrounding rowdy people.. Peace at last!!  =D Below are some pics that we took during the cruising around Lake Brienz =D

After the crusie, we had our lunch at a cafe.. Some kind of soup with healthy grains, corns and chopped ham, When we enquired with the waitress what was that, she simply answered in swiss as she cant explain the exact description in English. Hence, taking a leap of faith, we just take her recommendations and had that. Cool!! The soup was served piping hot, tasted excellent and replenish our energy incredibly . Of course, not forgetting our ham and cheese bread. (best combo with soup)

Happy Peng with her lunchie

Me loving the relaxing mode in the cafe.
After our simple and yet filling lunch, we head out for Trümmelbach Falls. a series of 10 waterfalls in a cave-like environment, is hidden inside a mountain in the Lauterbrunnen Valley. It's a natural UNESCO World heritage site, and rightly so. Its actually melt water flowing down from Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau which  form a powerful raging torrent that carries 20'000 liter water per second through the cavesAs I'm either using my mobile phone else my normal digital camera, hence the pics below do not do justice to the magnificent view of Trümmelbach Falls =P For more details, you may refer to this official link from Switzerland official website. Admission for Adult: CHF 11, Children: CHF 4
